EASY WALK is an innovative NAVIGATION SYSTEM based on the GPS (Global Positioning System) and running on Symbian OS mobile devices which provides blind and partially sighted people with a complete range of features aimed at the best ever personal navigation aid.
EASY WALK is the best way of being traceable (if you wish) and for obtaining assistance and useful information in getting around easily and independently.
EASY WALK translates the information into spoken expressions on any screen-reader, allowing the user to understand the meaning of the indications given by the application.
Some of the service features include:
- Detailed description of actions to be done (turns, distance to given points, etc.);
- The “WHERE AM I?” feature reports detailed information about street names and numbers, crossings and POIs (Points Of Interest) in the surroundings. Thanks to this feature, users can get city names and POIs even when they are travelling by train, coach or any other means of transport (public and/or private) via an active GPS signal;
- POI Information;
- Information on direction (GPS compass), altitude, longitude, latitude speed and GPS signal status.
